AtkinsRéalis is hiring a motivated Apprentice for its Drainage & Land Development team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. This full‑time apprenticeship gives civil engineering students and recent graduates hands‑on experience on real infrastructure projects across transportation, energy and defence.​

Role overview – Apprentice, Drainage & Land Development

As an Apprentice, you work with civil and drainage engineers in Bangalore on roads, land development and stormwater/drainage‑related projects. You help prepare designs and documentation, learning how real‑world infrastructure is planned, modelled and delivered to quality standards.​

Key responsibilities

This role is designed for early‑career civil engineers who want to learn while contributing to live projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage basic tasks independently over time and steadily build technical depth.​

• Assist in preparing basic designs, engineering drawings and project documentation

• Support the team in reviewing applicable design standards and codes for drainage and land development

• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with engineers across disciplines and locations

• Apply civil engineering principles to real‑world drainage and infrastructure problems under guidance

• Help with data collection, analysis and reporting for ongoing projects

• Contribute to maintaining quality standards and consistency in project deliverables

About you – eligibility and skills

The apprenticeship targets civil engineering talent that is early in its career and ready to learn quickly in a professional environment. Strong fundamentals, good communication and a proactive attitude are key.​

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Civil Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., BTech/BE in Civil, MTech in Civil/Infrastructure, or equivalent degree).​

• Basic understanding of civil engineering concepts such as hydraulics, drainage, transportation and land development.​

• Willingness to learn, take initiative and work collaboratively in teams.​

• Good communication, teamwork skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude.​

• Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).​

Desirable: exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D, interest in drainage design or infrastructure projects, awareness of UK design standards (training provided) and curiosity about digital engineering tools.​
