Role overview – Analyst Trainee (multiple tracks)

Cognizant offers four distinct Analyst Trainee career tracks, allowing you to choose or be aligned based on your credentials and interview performance. Each track combines technical learning, hands‑on project work and client interaction within Cognizant’s global delivery network.

Track 1: IT & Integrated Smart Operations
Focus on database management, IT service operations and data analytics; handle CRUD operations, stored procedures, test case design and service ticket resolution.

Track 2: Multicloud
Focus on computing infrastructure, cloud environments and incident management; administer servers, monitor production systems and provide support across Windows, Network, Database, Storage and Cloud platforms.

Track 3: Digital Workplace Services
Focus on first‑line technical support and end‑user IT troubleshooting; provide hardware/software diagnostics, ticket management and knowledge base support across diverse global client communities.

Track 4: IT Practice (general)
Broader IT services exposure based on organizational and client needs.

Key responsibilities by track

Analyst Trainee – IT & Integrated Smart Operations:

• Describe relationships between database tables and write queries to retrieve data

• Perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) and write stored procedures

• Prepare and execute test cases, scripts and automated/manual tests

• Analyze root cause and resolve service tickets per standard operating procedures

• Demonstrate proficiency in IT Service Management and Data Analytics tools

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in assigned projects

Analyst Trainee – Multicloud:

• Maintain and administer computing environments, monitor production servers

• Perform incident management and escalation following defined SOPs/Runbooks

• Provide support for Windows, Network, Database, Storage, Messaging and Cloud environments

• Adhere to customer security, compliance and communication standards

• Contribute to continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives

• Participate in knowledge‑sharing and mentor new hires

• Work 24/7 shift environment; willing to relocate across India as needed

Analyst Trainee – Digital Workplace Services:

• Provide first‑line technical support and end‑user assistance for IT issues

• Log, track and resolve support tickets with accurate documentation

• Troubleshoot hardware/software problems and minimize system downtime

• Escalate complex issues to senior IT teams

• Maintain knowledge base articles for self‑service support

• Work in shifts; communicate effectively across global client communities

Eligibility criteria by track

Track 1 – IT & Integrated Smart Operations:

• Qualification: 3‑year UG degree in BCA, B.Sc Computer Science, IT (allied streams), Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics or Electronics

• Academic marks: Minimum 60% in X, XII, Diploma, UG with consistent record and no rounding of 59.9%

• Batch: 2024 or 2025 graduates

• At joining: Minimum 60% aggregate in final UG degree with no arrears

Track 2 – Multicloud:

• Qualification: Any 3‑year UG degree (BCA, B.Sc, BA, BBA, B.Com, B.Voc, BMS, etc.)

• Academic marks: Minimum 50% in academics with no rounding of 49.9%; no standing arrears

• Batch: 2024 or 2025 graduates

• Flexibility: Must be open to 24/7 shift work and relocation across India

Track 3 – Digital Workplace Services:

• Qualification: Any 3‑year UG degree (BCA, B.Sc, BA, BBA, B.Com, B.Voc, BMS, etc.)
