Role overview – Security Engineer L1 support
The Security Remote Field Service Engineer L1 is an entry‑level engineering role responsible for delivering professional remote technical support to clients in security technologies. You work to identify and resolve technical incidents quickly, maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and drive continuous improvement in support delivery. This is a hands‑on position where you combine technical troubleshooting with strong client communication.
Key responsibilities
Your day‑to‑day work in this role involves:
Incident & Problem Management:

Handling support requests according to established procedures and monitoring processes.

Using service assurance software and tools to investigate, diagnose and resolve security technology problems.

Collecting performance statistics, creating reports and working with users, colleagues and vendors as needed.

Prioritising and diagnosing incidents according to agreed procedures.

Escalating unresolved incidents and following up until resolution.
Service Delivery & SLA Management:

Monitoring service delivery against agreed SLAs and maintaining relevant records.

Ensuring zero missed SLA conditions through proactive service incident resolution.

Analysing service records against agreed service levels to identify improvement actions.

Providing service recovery following incident resolution.
Technical Investigation & Documentation:

Remotely investigating and identifying root causes of incidents.

Assisting with implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.

Documenting and closing resolved incidents according to procedures.

Maintaining accurate, complete and current configuration on configuration items (CIs).

Logging incidents in a timely manner with required detail.
Knowledge & Continuous Improvement:

Ensuring usage of knowledge articles in incident diagnosis and resolution.

Assisting with updating knowledge bases as required.

Maintaining knowledge of specific security specialisms and providing detailed advice.

Identifying problems and errors prior to or when they occur.

Providing continuous feedback to clients and updating all systems and ticketing tools.
Collaboration & Communication:

Cooperating with stakeholders including client IT teams, vendors and colleagues.
