Job Description
The IT Associate – Desktop Operations role focuses on providing technical support and maintaining computer systems within the organization. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting users with IT-related problems, and ensuring smooth desktop operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Handle daily technical support activities on desktop support, data network and server management.
- Install and test desktop software applications and internet browsers.
- Test computers to ensure proper functioning of computer systems.
- Train end users on usage of computer hardware and software.
- Extend computer support for systems’ software and hardware.
- Interact with staff on desktop problems and their resolution.
- Network and connect computers within organization to better communication.
- Maintain computer peripheral devices like printers and resolve associated problems.
- Conduct remote troubleshooting.
- Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue.
- Customize desktop applications to meet user needs.
- Record technical issues and solutions in logs.
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
- Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.
- Help create technical documentation and manuals.
- Team player and address end user escalations proactively.
- Address complex issues and resolve issues in specified time frame.
- Monitor tickets and engage team members to act on tickets proactively.
- Maintain Tracker for Tickets worked by Agents.
- Maintain the SLA and take ownership of client escalations.
- Provide Weekly Report for Desktop Team.
Requirements / Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Office 365, VPN, Antivirus Software, Proxy, Backup tools, BitLocker or Symantec Encryption.
- Understanding of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Mac.
- Knowledge of ticketing tools.
- Asset management knowledge.
- Basic networking and server knowledge including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
- Patch management.
