About this apprenticeship
American Express is hiring Apprentices for the Customer Care Professional (Chat) role at its Gurugram, Haryana office, with a hybrid work model that combines office and remote flexibility. As part of Team Amex, apprentices support card members through chat (and calls when needed), while building customer service, communication and problem‑solving skills in a global payments company.
Role overview – what you will do
In this chat‑based support role, you will handle card member queries in real time, aiming for quick, accurate and empathetic resolutions. You will simplify the end‑to‑end card member experience, drive process improvements based on customer feedback, support revenue‑generating initiatives and follow all quality and compliance standards while often managing 2–3 conversations at the same time.
Responsibilities & skills required
Key responsibilities include responding to customer queries via chat or phone, delivering to key performance metrics, reducing repeat contacts and showing a strong customer‑first mindset in every interaction. To succeed, you should be web‑savvy with quick navigation skills, comfortable multitasking across multiple tools/screens, and have strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
Eligibility & experience
This apprenticeship is open to freshers or candidates with up to 11 months of experience in customer service; prior chat experience is a plus but not mandatory. Applicants must have completed graduation from an AICTE/UGC‑recognized university within the last five years, should not have completed any government‑funded apprenticeship and must not be already registered for a NATS technical apprenticeship.
