Role Overview
The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L1) role focuses on providing managed network support services to enterprise customers. The selected candidates will monitor client infrastructure, investigate technical incidents, resolve networking issues, and ensure that IT services remain available with minimal downtime.
You will work with enterprise networking technologies, ITSM tools, firewalls, routers, VPNs, and cloud-connected infrastructure while collaborating with experienced engineers. This role offers excellent exposure to production support, incident management, enterprise networking, and customer support processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide managed services to ensure client IT infrastructure and systems remain operational.
- Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve technical incidents and problems.
- Monitor client infrastructure and networking solutions.
- Investigate first-line incidents and determine root causes.
- Follow approved procedures for request fulfilment.
- Provide support through telephone, ITSM tickets, and chat.
- Perform maintenance activities including patching and configuration changes.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers for continuous service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to reduce recurring incidents.
- Support automation initiatives for incident resolution and request fulfilment.
- Assist in project activities and disaster recovery testing when required.
- Escalate incidents whenever necessary.
- Update knowledge articles and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Required Skills & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computing or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of Pulse Secure SSL VPN.
- Knowledge of Virtual Juniper technologies.
- Basic understanding of Palo Alto and Fortinet Firewalls.
- Knowledge of Cisco Nexus Switches.
- Knowledge of Cisco ASR and ISR Routers.
- Basic understanding of Cisco ACS and Cisco ISE.
- Knowledge of Cisco Meraki Switches.
- Understanding of networking protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
- Good understanding of ITSM tools and ITSM processes.
- Highly disciplined in ticket handling.
- Strong planning and analytical skills.
- Adaptability to changing environments.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Client-focused mindset.
- Ability to work with global teams and multicultural environments.
