Role Overview

The Business Intelligence/Data Analytics Specialist will support the technical delivery and day-to-day operation of Lonza’s Business Intelligence platforms, primarily focusing on Commercial, Sales, and Marketing use cases. The role covers the complete BI lifecycle, including data ingestion, ETL development, data modeling, analytics, reporting, and platform support.

You will collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to deliver reliable and scalable BI solutions. This position also offers opportunities to contribute to data governance, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement while gaining hands-on experience with modern Business Intelligence tools.

Key Responsibilities

Act as an active member of the Omni BI project team, supporting delivery and evolution of BI products.
Gather business requirements and scope solutions with a strong focus on end users.
Develop ETL processes and manage data integration and pipelines.
Design and deliver user-centric reports and dashboards with strong storytelling and usability principles.
Generate analytics and insights to support commercial decision-making.
Improve data quality, availability, and traceability.
Provide operational support for BI platforms, including monitoring, issue resolution, and performance optimization.
Support data governance through standards, metadata management, and controlled access.
Identify opportunities for Business Intelligence, analytics, and automation improvements.
Encourage innovation through proof-of-concept development and continuous process improvement.

Required Skills & Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Data, IT, Digital, or related fields.
0–4 years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or related areas.
Strong Business Intelligence and data skills.
Experience working in database-driven environments.
Hands-on ETL experience with Snaplogic, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory.
Knowledge of data governance concepts including data quality, lineage, and controlled access.
Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire, Looker, or similar tools.
Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Node.js is an advantage.
Exposure to Docker and CI/CD practices is an added advantage.
